TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - June 24, 2020

It is Finished
Today is June 23, 2020
Welcome to your mid-week!
Usually, when we experience joy in this world, there is that little thought of doubt or uncertainty or fear in the back of our minds.
I love chocolate...but how many calories am I eating?
I love the work that I've done...but will it be outdated or need touch-ups or additions next year?
I love my kids...but am I raising them right? Will they make the right choices?
Yes, we experience joy but there is always a little whisper in the back of our mind.
Biblical joy is not suppose to have those whispers. In fact, biblical joy is the opposite. When faced with doubt or uncertainty or fear or failure, in the back of our mind should always be joy. That is the whisper that we should always hear.
The work that Jesus did on the cross for us - the work that resulted in our deliverance and salvation, that mended our relationship with our maker and allows for us to once again be in the presence of the Lord - that work is done. It is done. It is completed, perfectly, forever, in love by Jesus. And it always will be.
Whatever we might face - good or bad, highs or lows - you can be confident to know that, at least, that work is done. Meaning in the back of your mind you should always have that picture of Jesus' work - you should always have a picture of the cross. Whatever happens here, at least we have that. At least we have that, and that should give you joy. That should always give you joy.
And that was why Apostle Paul tells us all to rejoice always, because, the work of Jesus - the impossible work that he did for us - that work is completed. And it always will be.
God's blessing and protection over you and your family, and I look forward to worshiping with all of you this Sunday.
