Welcome to your mid-week!
This past Sunday Pastor Young Myong Moon from Compassion International preached about Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan; the parable of when a Samaritan showed compassion on a Jew who was left for dead by robbers.
And, what really spoke to me, was when he talked about how Compassion International was founded. How, in 1942, American evangelist Reverend Everett Swanson saw the plight of orphaned children in Korea during the Korean war and that is what inspired him to start the organization.
Meaning, for ~100,000 orphaned Korean children that were saved because of Compassion International, Reverend Swanson was their 'Good Samaritan.'
One person, saying yes to Jesus' command to 'go and do likewise' (Luke 10:37b) is what made a world of differences.
Now, imagine the difference if all of us did the same...
God's blessing as you meditate on the parable of the Good Samaritan and the command of Jesus to 'go and do likewise', and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
