TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - APRIL 29, 2020

Active Patience
Today is April 29, 2020
Welcome to your mid-week!
On day 271 - week 38 of being in the ark with his family and animals - Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. (Genesis 8:11) He knew it. And what does he do?
He continued to wait on the Lord.
Noah, a man who faithfully walked with the Lord (Genesis 6:9) before the flood, continued to walk faithfully with the Lord during the flood even when he knew the flood was over. Noah's focus was not on when he could leave the ark. No. Noah's focus was always in the present with an eye upward toward the Lord.
And, in his example, we get what it means to be actively patient; we get what it means to persevere.
In the times that we live in, it is easy to have our cabin fever get the better of us. However, Jesus reminds us that peace is not found in the world. It is not found at the end of the flood nor is it found when the stay at home order is lifted. It is only found in Jesus (John 16:33).
Our challenge, as we run this race, is to be actively patient - to persevere with our eyes fixed on the author and perfector of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). Only then can we find true peace to make it through whatever flood we are going through.
God's blessings and protection upon you all and I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.
