Welcome to your mid-week!
In chapter 6:10-11 of Hebrews, the author notes the good work that was done by the church in response to God's love. 'Good work that he wanted everyone in the church to do.
In chapter 10:32-34, he describes this good work. The principles of which were to not be ashamed of the community, to carry each other's burdens, and to continue to be loyal to each other.
In short, he summarizes his challenge to the church in the last chapter of the book:
Hebrews 13:1
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.
For the author, he wanted the church to treat each other as family. And that is the point of our vision for 2019.
For the last 8 Sundays we've been delving into our vision verse:
Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds...
And, over the past 8 Sundays, we can now sum it up like this: Having a relationship with God, let us be considerate of each other as we spur one another to becoming more and more like Jesus and more and more like the family of God.
That's the goal of those good deeds, and this is the vision that our church will be striving for in 2019.
God's blessing upon you this week and I look forward to seeing each of you this Sunday.
