Today is February 20, 2019
Welcome to your mid-week!
Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us that our walk of faith is a race. We have fans. We have steps. What is the prize?
Well, Jesus is the prize.
I think sometimes we caught up with the idea that we need to be achieving something. That our race is to get to the next stage of life or that our race is to make it to the next step in our education or career.
But Hebrews 12:2 makes it clear that the goal is not to achieve something. It is to become someone. It is not to get. It is to be.
Jesus is the trail blazer and the finisher of the race. Our goal is to follow in his steps; to be Christ followers.
That is the prize we are running for. That - as we live our lives - we spur one another toward love and good deeds to the point where we look more and more like Jesus in every aspect of our lives.
The goal is to be like Jesus; to be - in every understanding of that word - people of God. That is the prize we run for.
God's blessing upon you as you run your race and I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday.

- KM, EM & Youth will be heading to Mexico to do VBS, lunch, haircutting, and acupuncture on Saturday, Mar 30. We will leave after early morning prayer and will come back later that night. There will be a couple of mandatory training sessions in March. Registration Forms can be found in the back. Please turn them into the Main Office if interested.
Leviticus 26:12 - "I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people."
