TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - NOVEMBER 6, 2019

A Samaritan Leper
Today is November 6, 2019
Welcome to your mid-week!
There are many ways that we can relate to the 10 lepers of Luke 17.
Maybe we do not literally have leprosy, but there are moments where we may feel isolated or left out; judged, marginalized, or labeled. Moments where we may have been called ugly or that we smelled bad. Moments where we may have felt desperate or hopeless or unwanted or cast aside or ignored or blind or handicapped.
If you have ever felt like this at all, then the story of the 10 lepers is a reminder of the love of God for you. Jesus purposely took a detour to bring healing to those lepers and that is what he does for us.
Unlike society, Jesus does not judge us or forsake us. No. He comes to where we are, in love, and brings salvation.
In fact, James tells us that every good and perfect thing is from God.
The challenge, therefore, is to recognize this goodness of God. To recognize his mercy and compassion and miracle. And, when you experience it, to respond like the Samaritan Leper who, when healed, came back to Jesus, praised God, humbled himself, and gave thanks.
God's blessing upon you and I look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks.
