TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - SEPTEMBER 25, 2024

The Fruit of Encouragement

Today September 25, 2024

Welcome to your mid-week!

Encouragement is so important. Encouragement

boosts morale

reduces stress

builds confidence

increases motivation

promotes perseverance

reinforces positive behavior

builds trust and loyalty

cultivates a positive environment

deepens empathy

deepens compassion

helps in recover and healing

guides others toward their potential

& builds and unifies and promotes growth

No wonder the bible tells us to encourage one another daily. To encourage through

words

service

gifts

being there

listening

giving guidance and wisdom

& celebrating together

But Barnabas teaches us another way to encourage and shows us the true purpose of encouragement. For Barnabas encouraged John Mark via

forgiveness, and by giving him

a second chance

Forgiveness and second chances are some of the most profound forms of encouragement because they communicate a deep truth: that no one is beyond redemption, and that everyone has the capacity to grow and be transformed by God's grace.

And this act of encouragement paved the way for John Mark to reconcile with Apostle Paul and ultimately write the Gospel that bears his name.

In the same way, when we forgive others and offer second chances, we reflect God's heart for restoration and invite people to step into their God-given potential, fostering reconciliation and deeper relationships in Christ. Meaning, encouragement isn’t just about making people feel good in the moment—it’s about nurturing their long-term growth in Christ.

And that is the fruit of encouragement.

God’s blessing as you mediate on encouragement, and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
