Today December 4, 2024
Welcome to your mid-week!
Satan is called our ‘enemy’ in the bible for a reason.
He will remind us of our past sins and failures and short comings, suggesting they disqualify us from God’s love.
He will say - because of our current difficulties - God has abandoned us or that His promises won’t come true.
He will sow doubt about our salvation, making us question if we’re truly forgiven.
Or, he will try to isolate us, making us feel abandoned or unloved, especially in times of hardship or silence from God. He will equate God’s love with our circumstances saying ‘If God really loved you, then this bad thing wouldn’t have happened.”
Satan is our enemy.
But this is why God gives us the word of God which is the sword of the Spirit
This is why God gives us prayer which will help us to resist the lies of the enemy.
This is why God gives us the church to encourage us and remind us of God’s truth when we are spiritually weak.
And what is God’s truth? The truth is
We are accepted
We are secure
We are loved
I mean, think about it.
To be made children of God. To be made co-heirs with Christ. To have our bodies redeemed, our prayers heard, and to have glory awaits? For Apostle Paul, these lavish gifts of God show God’s heart toward us. I mean, so great a love God has for us that Apostle Paul would write these words:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
And, when we embrace this truth, then truly we can come to the same conclusion of Apostle Paul:
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
God’s blessing upon you as you mediate on what it means to be a winner in Christ Jesus, and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
