Welcome to your mid-week!
Apostle Peter tell us in his 1st letter that the trials and challenges that we experience in this world have a purpose. Meaning, we should not just ignore them or pretend they do not effect us. What is their purpose? Well, to make
the joy of our salvation purer.
When we experience setbacks; when we experience frustrations; when we experience stress and anxiety and fear, hardship and challenges and trials, sickness and deterioration and death - all of that should make
the joy of our salvation purer.
And here's why:
All of the challenges of this world only shows more why God needed to save us.
All of the challenges of this world only shows more how incredible God's gift of salvation is.
All of the challenges of this world only give a clearer contrast to what our next life will be.
When this world pulls focus away from the truth of our joy that we have in Christ Jesus, sometimes we need to be like King David and pray that God would restore to us the joy of his salvation. For, that joy is truly an amazing joy. And, with it, we'll be able to have renewed strength to move forward.
God's blessing as you mediate on the joy of your salvation, and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
