Good Work

Today is May 13, 2020

Welcome to your mid-week!

When God made mankind, he told them to work. Specifically he told them to 'cultivate,' 'maintain,' 'subdue,' and 'rule.'

To cultivate is to foster growth or to improve.
To maintain is to preserve from failure or decline.
To subdue is to exercise control over and to show discipline.
To rule is to take responsibility for, to make decisions and administer.

So, if you are doing any of that, you are doing good work. You are doing good work.

However, one of the consequences of sin, is that it affected this good work. Genesis 3:17-19 lays it all out but, in short, we now toil and sweat and produce thorns and thistles. Yes, the work is still good but, because of sin, there is now difficulty, resistance, and, sometimes, disappointment.

This is why Apostle Paul wrote this:

Galatians 6:9 
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

The work you are doing is good work. You may not see it and it might seem endless. But, just like the seasons, it will not last forever. Whatever work you are doing - whether that is your career or for your self or the work needed in your relationships - it is good work.

You are doing good work.

God's blessing and protection over you all and I look forward to worshiping with you online this Sunday.

• TFPC has created a '5 Loaves & 2 Fish' Ministry. If you are able, please donate dry goods, cleaning supplies, and paper products to the main lobby. If you are in need, please stop by the church lobby and take whatever is available for you and your family.

• Sunday Worship will only be offered online, following California's stay-at-home order. As of now, in-person services will begin when we begin phase 3 of California's 4 phase opening strategy.
