Welcome to your mid-week!
This past Sunday we continued our discussion on 'holiness' and we began with a spoken word by Brandon Chai, one of our members.

And, in the discussion of holiness, we focused on our nose - on smelling. In 2 Corinthians 2:15 Paul tells us that we are the 'aroma of Christ.'
An aroma is a scent; something invisible and yet carries with it memories.
And that was the challenge Paul was giving us. To be invisible and, at the same time, have people remember who God is. This meant that our actions and words and deeds are suppose to be the aroma of what reminds people of God.
What makes this difficult is that, sometimes, we stink. Or, worse, we are that aroma but we don't give the credit to where its due. We don't talk about God and people don't know we are Christian. Or, sometimes, we don't have any odor at all. We hide it away. Maybe out of shame or fear of judgement or rejection even though we have claimed Christ as our Lord and have experienced his life changing love.
This is not what we are suppose to do
We are suppose to be the aroma of Christ. We are suppose to fill the air with Jesus' love and righteousness and goodness so much that the world will know and come to worship the source of where that aroma comes from.
That is what we are suppose to do. That is what we are suppose to be.
So then, God's blessing upon you as you try your best to be God's aroma and I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday.
