Trust Sunday

Today is March 27, 2024

Welcome to your mid-week!

Richard Fagerlin once said, “Trust isn’t what we do; it is what results from what we do.”  

Part of Passion Week is remembering what God did for mankind. It is about remembering the promises of God and remembering how God fulfilled those promises.

For the disciples during Passion Week, they had a skewed understanding of the promises of God. And, when what they expected did not happen, they lost faith in Jesus and abandoned him.

Much of the emotional rollercoaster they went through is because they really didn’t know Jesus and what he was sent by God to do. There is a phrase that captures what happened to them:

Know Jesus, Know Peace. No Jesus, No Peace.

When you are able to know why Jesus came to earth - when we are able to see the larger picture and purpose of the work of God - then trust of God will naturally come. And the beauty of the work of God is that it does not end on the cross. God is still at work today. Every testimony given and answered prayer shared and fruit of the Spirit shown is evidence of his work.

And the more we remember his works in the past and see his works in the present, the more we can trust in his promises for our future. That is why we celebrate Passion Week.

God’s blessing upon you this Passion Week as you meditate on the works of God, and I look forward to worshipping with you in the Main Sanctuary for Joint Worship this Easter Sunday.

Announcements

• Meal Train for Aaron and Yoshimi

  Ashley Miko Son was born on Tuesday March 26th! To ease their burden, we want to support them through prayers and meals. If you are able, please sign up HERE

• Good Friday Service is Mar 29, 7:30pm in the EM Chapel

  Families with youth and elementary kids are welcome to join.

• Easter Joint Worship is Mar 31, 11:30am in the Main Chapel

  This will be a bilingual service with Elementary, Youth, EM, and KM. Pre-K will have a separate service as normal. There will be no EM 9:45am worship service that Sunday.

• 2024 TFPC Summer Overseas Short-Term Mission ‘Product Donation’ & ‘Designated Offering’

  We ask for your prayers and support of our summer short-term missions (Philippines, Honduras, Uganda & Malawi)

  1) Mission field goods donation: Sunglasses and reading glasses

  2) If giving an designated offering please write ‘Short-term mission support’

  3) Love Sharing Bazaar

  • Held on April 13th (Saturday) and April 14th (Sunday).

  • Items: Side dishes, bibim sauce, braised sauce, sesame oil, perilla oil, red pepper paste, soybean paste, etc.

• 2024 TFPC Summer Golf Tournament

  A golf tournament to support short-term summer missions. Date: Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m. First 80 people to apply. Where: Chester Washington (1818 Charlie Sifford Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90047). Application: Parish Lobby. Contact Elder Eunhyeon Jeong for questions (213-820-5100). Deadline Mar 31.
