TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - June 30, 2021

Soul Alert
Today is June 30, 2021
Welcome to your mid-week!
Sometimes the pain we experience is warning us of a potential danger, like when our stomach growls warning us of starvation or when we get certain symptoms warning us of potential serious health problems.
Well, every time our soul aches, it is warning us of the sinfulness of this world. Whether hopelessness or anxiety, feeling trapped or out of control. Our soul aches from sin and the only cure is the Lord.
The problem is that, as adults, we have a tendency to play down our pain. That, to be an adult means not expressing our need for relief or assistance or help.
However, when Jesus told his disciples that, "...unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3) What he was telling them was that, to be a Christian adult means expressing our need.
Instead of ignoring or toughening through, instead of focusing on something else or downplaying it all together, when our soul aches we need to seek the Lord with all our heart and mind and strength and soul.
We need the Lord. That is where our soul finds rest, where we find our peace, where our soul is full.
And every time our soul aches, it should be our alert that we need to, once again, draw near to the Lord.
God's blessing as you mediate on your soul's alert system and I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.

- Pre-K's Chapel will now be in a new location starting THIS SUNDAY!
- To give more room for a safer environment, the Pre-K Chapel has been moved to the chapel in the Education Building. Please see the map below.
Continuing Announcements
- Cell Group Leaders Needed!
- We are looking to create a ‘Singles & Professional’ (S&P for short) cell group to launch in September and we need leaders!
- Needs the group have made:
- Someone who understands this particular stage of life, though does not feel the need to teach what is the "right" way to live this stage of life
- Someone who is hospitable and able to create a space (both digital and personal) for members to gather and do life together, though not necessarily in their own home
- Because it has been over a year since members have had a community, it is important for the leader to allow time for fellowship so that the members can get reacquainted
- The leader should have a good rapport with most of the members
- Ideally, the group would be led by 2 people (1 woman and 1 man), either a husband and wife or 2 single members; this will ensure that if there are deeper conversations that take place, members can have someone they may feel more comfortable with
- Expectations of the leaders:
- A space where our members can be unapologetic and share about their experiences; re-establishing a cell and community for young singles
- A community where members can be encouraged by peers
- Meet every other week, ideally meet over a meal
- TFPC will cover the cost of meals, curriculum, supplies, and trips for the S&P Cell Group
- Please contact Pastor Frank at frankkim1@gmail.com if interested!
- Mask Requirement for Worship
