TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 29, 2022

Walking in the Truth Amidst the Storm
Today is December 29, 2021
Welcome to your mid-week!
This past year our church's vision was 'Walking in the Truth Amidst the Storm.' It was a vision aimed at the current storm that we all are facing: the pandemic.
And what was it a call to do? Well...
It was a call to go to the word of the Lord and to learn from the men and women of God through their storms.
It was a call to look at the example of Jesus and to see things from God’s perspective.
It was call to pray and to get out of our boats, to focus on the true hope and peace and joy and love that we have through Jesus Christ.
And it was a call to follow Peter's example; to draw near to God and to learn from him.
When we draw near to God we are able to fight the fears of our storm because God is love (1 John 4:8) and perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18).
When we draw near to God we need not worry about own failings because God forgives us (Psalm 103:8-12).
When we draw near to God we are able to once again learn the truth of his word: that he is the rock (1 Samuel 2:2), our fortress (Psalm 18:2), our firm foundation (2 Timothy 2:19), our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13), the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
From the truth of who God is and who we are in Christ, we can confidently move forward through any storm.
With us going into the 3rd year of the pandemic, now more than ever do we need to abide with our savior - to draw near to him and to learn from him - because, when we do, we will be able to walk in the truth amidst the storm.
God's blessing upon you as you meditate on this past year and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
