TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 13, 2020

Walking Amidst Doubt

Today is January 13, 2021

Welcome to your mid-week!

When Moses first tried to free his people, he took matters into his own hands and failed, which led to him being exiled. With that kind of failure you can imagine why, when God asked him to free his people 40 years later, Moses said no...three times.

Moses had every reason to believe that he would fail just as he had before.

However, after God's continuing reassurance and his brother Aaron to come along with him, Moses was finally able to say yes. And, from the decision, Moses would become the Moses we famously know him for: the staff wielding, 10 plague flinging, red sea parting, 'let my people go' saying Moses.

Now, when it comes to us acting on the convictions of God, we might have had a Moses like moment where we tried and failed. And, maybe, because of that failure, we haven't tried again...for 40 years. And maybe, like Moses, we are full of excuses.

However the word of God tells us that doubt is the destroyer of life. That we need to combat doubt with faith. And, just like Moses, faith is obtained by hearing from the word of God again and again; being reassured by what God has done in the past, what he has promised us for the present, and what we can expect from Him in the future. That is how we overcome doubt.

And, if we still have difficulty to say yes to God, this is where we need to have the strength to ask for help; where we need to have our own Aaron to walk along side of us.

God's blessing and protection over you as you wrestle with your doubt and God's convictions in your life, and I look forward to worshiping with you online next week.
