TFPC EM NEWSLETTER - JULY 22, 2020

All The Time
Today is July 22, 2020
Welcome to your mid-week!
All of us experience the symptoms of sin in this world: the evil done by people, the thorns and thistles from the earth, the bad days. Even Jesus experienced it. You want to talk about bad things happening to good people? The worst thing happened to the best person. This is all because of sin.
Well, God is so good that he gives us the cure to the disease of sin.
God made a plan from before creation, implemented it through Jesus Christ, showed it to us through his word, and, in that plan, deals directly with the cause and effects of sin. God redeems us, defeats Satan, and restores all of creation.
Yes, it took great cost - the death of his one and only son to pay the penalty of our sin - but, God is that good to us because he loves us that much.
The good thing he does now is to give us time to learn and process and make the decision to choose his love or not.
Sure, when we experience the symptoms of this world we may feel like God is slow but, 2 Peter 3:9 tells us
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Ultimately God wants everyone to be saved. God did good work to save us, good work to prepare a place for us where there is no pain or sorrow or tears, good work to give this to us as a gift despite our sin and rebellion, and now God is good to give us this time to choose for ourselves.
Truly God is good.
And, hopefully, as you mediate on God's love and faithfulness and goodness, you can say 'all the time' after that statement.
God's blessing and protection over you and your family and I look forward to worshiping with you online this Sunday.
