Giving Your All to All
Today is December 5, 2018
Welcome to your mid-week!
In Apostle Paul's farewell speech to the elders of Ephesus, he quotes Jesus saying "it is more blessed to give than to receive." So, what did Apostle Paul give in his ministry that he hoped the elders of Ephesus would emulate?
Well, Apostle Paul gave everything of himself to all people.
That's what Jesus did. That's what Apostle Paul dedicated himself to do. That was his challenge to the leaders of the church.
To give your all to all.
The beauty of Apostle Paul's farewell speech is that he describes how he gave himself to all people. In the first verses of that speech - Acts 20:19-21 - we see that, to give everything of himself to all people, it took humility, openness, and inclusivity.
Humility, openness, and inclusivity. That was how Apostle Paul gave everything of himself to all people. That was his gift. And, in this season of giving, that is our challenge. To give your all to all via humility, openness, and inclusivity.
God's blessing upon you as you wrestle with this challenge and I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday.
