Today is October 3, 2018
Welcome to October and your mid-week!
When the disciples were at their lowest point, both emotionally and physically, Jesus came to them. When they were on a boat, in a 7-10 hr storm, at 700 feet below sea level, on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus came to them to give them hope.
And what was the fastest way to get to them? By walking on the water.
In the middle of the night, Jesus came down from the mountain, walked miles on the water, and got in the boat with his disciples just to calm there fears and bring them hope.
He was reminding them to not be anxious or be worried. In fact John, who was in that boat, would later write this:
1 John 5:4-5
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus not only saves us but gives us victory over fear and death. He gives us victory over whatever this world throws at us; over whatever storm may come.
So then, if you are in a storm or if you see one coming, Jesus words to his disciples are his words to you:
“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
God's blessing upon you and I look forward to seeing you all in the Main Sanctuary this Sunday as we celebrate World Communion Sunday as a church.

- Peter and Joyce just had their 3rd child this past Sunday and TLC needs volunteers to make and deliver dinners to them. Spots still needed: Oct 10
